Dr. Kermit Smith


Dr. Kermit Smith is a graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. He double majored in Animal Science and Dairy Science and then went on to complete his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has been working at Norco Animal Hospital since 1989, receiving Inland Empire Magazine's 2004 distinction of best veterinarian. Dr. Smith was born and raised in Riverside and enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball.

Dr. Ed Shin


Dr. Ed Shin is a graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis. Upon graduating, he completed a one year internship in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care. He has been working at Norco Animal Hospital since February 2007 and enjoys working on all the different breeds of dogs and cats in the area. Dr. Shin's interests include emergency care, endocrinology, and preventive medicine. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, reading, and spending time with his dog.

Dr. Abigail Carrillo


Dr. Abigail Carrillo is a graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis and classmates with Dr. Ed Shin. She has been working at Norco Animal Hospital since April 2010. Dr Carrillo joined the Lake Elsinore Animal Hospital family in January of 2011. Dr. Carrillo is a local girl, graduating from Elsinore High School. She enjoys mountain climbing and horseback riding.

Dr. Pearl Hong


Dr. Pearl Hong earned her doctorate degree from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine. She has also completed a one year small animal internship at the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Hong was an emergency veterinarian prior to joining the staff at Norco Animal Hospital. Her veterinary interests include preventive medicine, emergency medicine, alternative therapies, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Hong was born in Taiwan and grew up in Southern California. Her background rehabilitating wildlife and working with sea birds affected by oil spills inspired her to become a veterinarian. In her spare time, she loves cooking, baking, yoga, camping, hiking, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and her cat, Pepper.

Dr. Jonathan Quan


Dr. Quan was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles. His career in the veterinary field first began as a volunteer at a local veterinary hospital. He received his bachelor’s degree from UC Davis majoring in Animal Science. He studied Tropical Biology and Conservation Biology in Costa Rica and worked with Hawksbill sea turtles on the big island of Hawai’i. Dr. Quan received his Degree of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis and completed an externship at the Emergency department at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to further his skills and knowledge by completing a rotating internship at PetCare Veterinary Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA (in Northern California), where he worked alongside board-certified specialists. Dr. Quan enjoys traveling, basketball, snowboarding, hiking, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, learning about wines, and especially softball. He lives with his 4-year-old guinea pig, Ms. Piggy, who was adopted from UC Davis as a little piglet.
