Our Veterinarians
Dr. Kermit Smith
Dr. Kermit Smith is a graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa
State University. He double majored in Animal Science and Dairy Science and then
went on to complete his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has been working at
Norco Animal Hospital since 1989, receiving Inland Empire Magazine's 2004
distinction of best veterinarian. Dr. Smith was born and raised in Riverside and
enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball.
Dr. Ed Shin
Dr. Ed Shin is a graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis.
Upon graduating, he completed a one year internship in internal medicine,
surgery, and emergency care. He has been working at Norco Animal Hospital since
February 2007 and enjoys working on all the different breeds of dogs and cats in
the area. Dr. Shin's interests include emergency care, endocrinology, and
preventive medicine. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, reading, and
spending time with his dog.
Dr. Suzi Lanini
A southern California native, Dr. Lanini was born and raised in Anaheim, Ca. She
completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Cal Poly
Pomona in 2001. Dr. Lanini then went on to graduate with the Charter Class of the
Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Dr.
Lanini enjoys the outdoors and has enjoyed riding horses since the age of 8. She
currently is showing her Arabian horse "Justin" and plans to compete and the Arabian
Sport Horse National Competition in 2010. When she is not practicing veterinary
medicine or riding her horse, she enjoys off highway vehicle trails in her husband’s
1952 Jeep.
Dr. Nam Kim
Dr. Kim grew up in Seoul, South Korea. She received her veterinary degree from Cheju
National University. Upon graduating, she completed a one year internship in internal
medicine, and emergency critical care at Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Seoul National
University. After her internship she transferred to Oklahoma State University to
complete her clinical rotations. Her professional interests include internal medicine,
dermatology, and preventive care. She shares her life with a cat and enjoys traveling,
cooking, and music. She recently joined the Norco Animal Hospital in June of 2009
and her plans for the future include pursuing a residency in internal medicine.
